Bristol Jets Touch Rugby Club

 

Bristol Jets Touch Club was founded as 'Bristol Fijians' in 2007, when elite Touch was still in its infancy in England. The Bristol Fijians side featured as one of the original set of teams in the very first NTS (National Touch Series) season in 2008. The club was small then, more of a team than a club, but it set down the roots that grew into the friendly and competitive club we are today.
 
Now, Bristol Jets is a thriving touch club with around 70 members. Amongst our number we are lucky to count a number of international players and coaches, and many players who have achieved successes at the local, regional and national level. Whilst we aim to support members in achieving high standards and maximising their potential, not everyone who joins us is seeking competition or recognition, and we equally welcome players who are looking for a social, mixed sport which is accessible as well as great for fitness and for making friends.
 
Bristol Jet’s fields a development team in the local Bristol Touch League which runs all year round and is open to all training members. We also offer various opportunities to play in local, friendly competitions in the South West. We enter both Male and Female teams in the National Touch Series (NTS) and two teams into the mixed gender NTS.
 
Our aims as a club, outlined in our constitution, are:

• To offer coaching to club members of all abilities

• To offer competitive opportunities for club members of all abilities

• To support the ambitions and development of all playing club members

• To promote the sport of touch in Bristol and surrounding areas

• To provide a welcoming and supportive environment to all

• To ensure a duty of care to all members of the club

• To ensure that all present and future members receive fair treatment

• To be affiliated with the England Touch Association
